I just started my blog a few months and this is my most researched question. I research this question at least three times a week, why? because it doesn’t make sense having a blog that nobody reads! Getting traffic is very important because you want to reach to a wide variety of people with similar interests. This strategy has definitely become quite a cliche but trust me it works. But what makes it work better is knowing how to promote your blog and when you should on these social media platforms. Social media is your best friend when blogging, but why is that? because that is where everyone is! This is one of the easiest ways to increase blog traffic.
Instagram: tend to have most readers during certain peak hours. People tend to post the most on Thursdays because of the popular hashtag #ThrowBackThursday and it is expected that most readings will be online posting as well, if it happens that a particular reading clicks that hashtag they might stumble on your post. According to reviews, Sundays see a much higher level of interaction, so if there’s any day of the week you should plan to make a post it should be on a Sunday. Also on instagram it is very important for you to use the appropriate hashtags as they will bring you a lot of readers. Hashtags such as #love #instaGRAM#follow #like are popular hashtags used on instagram.
Twitter: think strategy, post more than once throughout the day, be careful not to spam, everyone hates spamming. People like pictures, they like to see exactly what you are talking about. Don’t just post a link on twitter and leave it, add a suitable picture to your twitter link, you’ll be surprised how much of a difference this makes. Use appropriate hashtags such as #fashionblogger #beautyblogger you can reach out to quite a lot of people.
Google+: offers a great way for promoting blog content as well, they have tonnes of communities you can join and post in daily, so don’t just post your content on your google+ page and leave it there share it to these communities that relates to your blog.
Pinterest: have boards on which you can post your link to your blog content, daily, the great thing about pinterest is that if your content is in other’s interest it will be repinned by other users and shared to thousands of people.
Facebook: create a facebook page for your website and promote your content there. The good think about facebook is that once you post your link a picture of your post will automatically pop up which makes it easier to share your posts and remember that great captions should be created as well, they enable clicks! Join facebook groups that are suitable for your blog and your niche. There are great supports from facebook groups.
There are blog communities you can join which has other bloggers to connect with. Independent Fashion Bloggers (IFB) is one such community which host quite a number of bloggers. IFB is great because your can not only share your blog content with other bloggers but also your social media links and other page links and they will be sure to give you a follow. Other bloggers on IFB are very supportive people. Bloglovin is another such community which hosts other bloggers you can connect with, read and help to promote each other’s contents. Bloglovin’ also helps to increase blog traffic.
Create good and easy to read content, space your paragraphs so that readers can read your content easily and is not pushed away by your wordy posts. Also include share and like buttons on your every posts so that your readers can share your content.
Don’t be afraid to ask your friends to share your content, they can help you bring traffic to your website. By re-posting on their social medias other readers that you may not having you be able to see and read your content.
