Time and time again, I share how often I switch up my foundations, just because I get tired of the same one or just me needing something different in my life. Recently, I made a new foundation purchase, yes, here I go again back down the foundations alley and I was really surprised at how it turned out. Had me thinking how far I have come from so-so foundations and made me dig up old foundations to bring you this post.
Maybe you are just like me, who just can’t settle with one foundation for too long. So, I want to share some of my foundations I have used over the years (the ones I still have and can remember) and my thoughts on them. I will be doing this review from my least favourite to my favourite at the moment. I will also share a little foundations wish list at the end, cause I just can’t get enough.
Jordana oil-free creamy liquid foundation
I have not used this foundation in over a year now, but somehow I had it lying around the house somewhere. My real reason I stopped using this one is because it started becoming cakey , I had it a while, its time is up, I suppose. This is my “didn’t know better” foundation, in all honesty, it covered a few blemishes and that’s it, was nothing special, now looking back. It looks wearable when covered with a nice face powder and this is shade 8, caramel bronze.
Maybelline Fit Me Matte Poreless
Next up, is this Maybelline Fit Me Matte Pore less foundation I picked up on Amazon little under a year ago. At first, I really hated the fact that I made this purchase and was really disappointed. But then after a few days, I realized that it somehow got thicker over a period of time and richer in application, finally something I was able to work with. I still mix it with other foundations, but definitely not my go to foundation. This foundation is for normal to oily skin and this shade is Mocha.
Maybelline Dream Cushion Liquid Foundation
I recently did a review on this one. You can remind yourself here. The only think that disappoints me about this one is that it is not a perfect match for my skin tone but I do love the coverage and convenience of the packaging.
Mary Kay Medium Coverage Foundation
This is the closest thing to a pretty decent foundation I have purchase in a long while. This a medium-coverage foundation, I enjoyed using it, very rich in application and it gives pretty nice finish. I definitely have more rounds to go with this one.
Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation
Finally, on the list is Maybelline’s Dream Liquid Mousse foundation. I made this purchase just a few days ago and it is actually a great match up to my expectations of a foundation. It gives amazing coverage, rich in application with a smooth airbrush finish as stated. Pricing was pretty decent too. So, I will be having my way with this one. This shade is 130 which is Cocoa.
Foundations wishlist 2017:
I made a little list in my head of the foundations I want to try out this year: Here they are:
- Loreal Infallible Pro Glow
- Loreal Infallible Pro Matte
- Mac studio fix fluid
- Loreal True Match
I have come to realize that foundations look different on different skin types. There are people out there who have spoken directly to me, who have no problems at all with most these on the list. So, I would love to know your thoughts on these below.
