I spent last Saturday at Moon Palace Jamaica Grande Resort & Spa, located in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Over 2 hours away from Kingston, where I am staying. I had reached out to their team to collaborate and I was offered a complimentary day pass to facilitate my review.
Winter is coming, and if you are looking for the perfect getaway for your family, friends and/or spouse you might want to put this resort on the top of your list and here is why.
Moon Palace Jamaica Grande Resort & Spa
Moon Palace Jamaica Grande is Palace Resort’s newest resort located in Ocho Rios, previously it was Sunset Jamaica Grande Resort. Moon Palace Jamaica Grande is an all inclusive resort or “awe inclusive” as the hotel calls it. They have quite a number of accommodations, amenities, attractions and activities.
The resort has 705 rooms, with most of them being ocean view, they also have rooms for the physically challenged; talk about catering to everyone. I was able to visit one of the concierge level rooms, there are 74 in total. The concierge level rooms have balconies with great view of the ocean and resort.
The room rates are as follows: Ocean view – $301.00 a night per person (double occupancy), partial ocean view – $285.00 a night per person (double occupancy), ocean view with balcony – $314.00 a night per person, also double occupancy, Concierge level – $333.00 a night per person (double occupancy) and Family deluxe – $513.00 a night per person (double occupancy).

The resort has a total of 4 restaurants and 6 bars. You have Buccaneers reef which is a international buffet restaurant, which offers breakfast, lunch and dinner and can accommodate over 500 individuals. La Gondola, which is Italian themed and serves dinner. Pier 8, is for the seafood lovers, like myself and also serves lunch and dinner and Momo which is an Asian themed restaurant and serves dinner. They also have Gourmet Corner, a self service pizza, pannis and sushi restaurant.
As the foodie I am, I had to stop by the buffet area to grab something to eat while I take in such a paradise.
They also have Boulangerie, which is a self service coffee shop and which offers 24 hour service . I grabbed a few of their desserts during my visit and they were quite yummy.
As previously mentioned, they have 6 bars, namely; Piano Bar, Loud Bar, Lobby bar, Snack bar & Grill, Sun Deck Bar & Pizza and Wet Pool Bar.

If you are cooling down in the pool and would rather not disturb your relaxation, you can always swim up to their swim up Ba and grab something to drink.

They also have a playroom for kids, that I was able to see, the playroom caters for kids who are 4-12 years old. Children under 4 must be accompanied by an adult. The playroom consists of different games for the kids to enjoy and also a room to watch shows.

My Thoughts on Moon Palace Jamaica Grande Resort & Spa
I must say my visit was beyond what I expected it to be. I was greeted upon entering the Lobby by Ramoy, who was my tour guide for the day, we were later accompanied by Kemarlo. I checked in at the front desk and then the tour began. The tour guides were quite friendly, courteous and informative. As we toured the property and we approached other staff members, they too, were very polite, friendly and welcoming.
It was always a dream of mine to visiting Moon Palace Jamaica Grande, so I was eager to jump on this opportunity to get to visit in live and living colours. The property is beautiful, clean, spacious and well thought out. My trip was one of a kind and unforgettable, I can’t wait to go back and enjoy it all, once more.
You can book a minimum of 3 days in order to receive resort credits which is valued “$500”. The more nights you book, the more resort credits you will receive, that will add to your overall experience at the resort.
There is free WiFi on the property for all guests. Visit http://www.palaceresorts.com/ to book your stay.
