Hey guys! Extremely excited to be doing another feature on the blog, it has been a while. Today, I will be featuring a Lifestyle Blogger I met on Twitter, woot woot! Before I give anything away, lets get right into it.
Please tell us about yourself and your blog
Hey! I’m Eboni, a Fashion, Travel and Lifestyle blogger over at EBONI + IVORY. I am also slowly building my YouTube channel.
My blog is a place to find inspiration for affordable, trendy fashion looks. I also post about food and beauty with lots of lil reviews. Recently I have also really enjoyed writing some “think posts”.
Describe yourself using just five words
Friendly, Fun, Kind, Honest, Creative.
Do you have fashion icons? Name your top 3 and go!
Oh goodness! I have many, but at the mo, my top 3 are – Diana Veras, Chloe Plumstead and Courtney Quinn.
Social media is a huge slice of the cake when it comes on to blogging. Which social media platform do you like the most and why?
Okay, assuming we’re not including YouTube, I am loving Instagram at the mo! At the start of the year I would have said Twitter, but I am really loving discovering new Instagram accounts, growing my own account and watching/using insta stories – it can be so creative!
Bloggers can be found everywhere these days, what makes your blog different?
My blog is very much an extension of me and I am different! I have a wide variety of interests and hobbies and I love to share them. I also think my blog is one of the best places for affordable fashion – I am a sucker for a bargain and a dupe so you are bound to find all the latest trends on my blog, but for a fraction of the price!
You’re putting pictures out there for the whole world to see. What is your biggest fear about blogging?
My biggest fear is that I stop growing and getting better. As a trained performer, I have always known I wanted to go into an exposing industry so I have always been mentally prepared for connecting with a lot of people.
My fear is that people lose interest in me and I lose momentum in my growth. There are loads of things I want to achieve in blogging
and i am fearful that won’t achieve them!
What is it that makes you get up everyday and continues blogging, what is your motivational strategy?
I love connecting with people! I love when someone relates to a post I wrote, or decides to buy something I wore, or is inspired by something I posted. Blogging is something that is also very rewarding for my self confidence and mental health. It gives me something to do and a voice to be heard! When I’m feeling demotivated, I read other blogs and watch YouTube videos until I feel inspired! I always say to myself, if I ever stop enjoying blogging, I will stop blogging.
If you would be doing something else other than blogging, what would it be?
I am a blogger as a hobby at the moment. I am actually a trained actor and singer. I do acting work alongside blogging and would love to build my career in that world too.
Have you met any interesting/famous person on your journey thus far?
I have worked at a top London theatre for the past 7 years where I have bumped into a lot of famous people!
In terms of blogging, I have been at events where there have been some successful bloggers/YouTubers, but I have never spoken to them! *monkey covering eyes emoji* haha.
Where do you see your blog in the next five years?
I am hoping to be working with some big brands on blog and YouTube content. I would love to go on press trips and get to know other bloggers in person! I want to continue to write some interesting “think” posts and offer affordable yet stylish fashion content. I also hope my YouTube channel is established and successful! I would love to be in the position to go completely self-employed and work with some amazing brands and grow a loyal audience.
What was your biggest lesson of 2017 so far?
This year I learned a couple of things – in my personal life it was how to be a little more selfish and not let other people affect my self-worth. In blogging, I learnt that I find writing “think-posts” and spending more time on my writing is so much more rewarding than throwing a few images together. I now like to have a balance between deeper, lifestyle posts and more beauty/fashion based ones.
What are some of the best projects you have worked on and some top brands you would love to work with?
I really love working on projects whilst travelling- so reviewing a 5* hotel spa in Amsterdam for my birthday this year was amazing. Also spending 5 nights on an Italian Island with the Procida Island tourism board was a highlight.
I would love to work with more clothing brands in future such as New Look, Primark, Topshop and ASOS.
I would also love to work with more hotels and tour companies on some travel content!
Say goodbye, in a sentence or two.
It was lovely doing this interview, thank you for having me! If you’re reading this, please come and say hi on one of my social media channels, I’d love to chat!
